Aimée Butcher

Aimée Butcher is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter in the Toronto music scene, originally from Mississauga, Ontario. At the age of five her passion for music began once she began singing in her local church choir. After years studying classical and jazz genres, Aimée became a graduate of the University of Toronto, where she earned her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Jazz Performance with Honours, where she studied under Christine Duncan, Chase Sanborn, Alex Samaras and Phil Nimmons.

Aimée has worked with many notable Canadian jazz musicians, including Heather Bambrick, Shannon Butcher, Andrew Jones and John Macleod.

She is the founder of the Aimée Butcher Group, who has spent the last four years busy performing at many established Toronto venues, including the Rex Hotel Jazz & Blues Bar, and the Jazz Bistro. Aimée is also a busy side women performing with many other up and coming talents including, Chris Tsujiuchi, Robin Claxton, and the a cappella vocal group, The Wind And The Water.

In September 2014, Aimée recorded her debut album, “The World Is Alright”. Together with the talented group of musicians featured on this record, it is set to be released on May 26, 2015 at the prestigious Jazz Bistro, in Toronto Ontario.
