Influenced by classic singers such as the late Etta James, 24 year-old Liz Coyles’ voice is soft yet soulful and her music is inspired by artists such as Adele, Colbie Caillat and Girls Aloud. “My sound started out very singer/songwriter and once we went into production we put a lot more pop into it,” says Liz. “Ever since I started writing, there has been a strong acoustic presence in my sound and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.”
Within the past year, Liz has won several singing competitions, landed a record deal with Slaight Music, a sync on the television show “Degrassi”, wrote and recorded a number of songs, one of which (“Butterflies”) continues to climb the charts and is in rotation at dozens of major Canadian radio stations. She is currently in the process of writing and recording her first body of work, which will contain a collection of songs that encompass elements from the pop and folk genres combined with her signature unique and soulful voice. In addition, Liz performs regularly both on her own or with her backing band and has performed on the same bill as artists such as Jully Black and Serena Ryder.
Liz is poised to go far in the Canadian music scene and has the natural talent, ambition and dedication to enjoy a successful career as a singer, songwriter and performer.
