1000 Lives

Accordion-wielding roots songstress Ingrid Gatin first made a splash in 2009, with her full-length debut Broken Tambourine. On 1000 Lives, she recruits Grammy-nominated
engineer/producer Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Basia Bulat, The Dears), and the two have come up with this compelling effort, recorded in a loft and a church in Winnipeg and Bilerman's Montreal studio. Her passionate tunes have an old-world feel, with cabaret and world music influences set amidst evocative soundscapes. Gatin has started an extensive cross-country tour, including seven showcases during Folk Alliance. For all dates, go to www.ingridgatin.com
