Apophenia - Single

While Tasseomancy initially started out as a folk project under the moniker Ghost Bees, the band has morphed into something far stranger. Led by twin sisters Romy and Sari Lightman, who both used to perform as backup singers in Austra, the act has become something of a critical darling and a challenge to accurately define. New single “Apophenia” further adds fuel to their mystique; named after the condition of perceiving patterns in meaningless information, the ethereal tune deftly weaves between genres, mixing electronic textures, steel drums, and haunting vocals to unpredictable outcomes. It’s the first single off of their upcoming full-length Palm Wine Revisited (due May 5), which promises to be equally as enchanting and peculiar.

Tasseomancy live dates include Halifax for the OBEY Festival on May 24, Toronto for NXNE on June 17, and Montreal at Bar Le Ritz P.D.B. on June 18.
