Blue Room have been popular regulars on the T.O. blues circuit for the past 15 years, and they deliver a solid album of straight down the line blues on their new self-titled disc, their fourth. Earlier discs have received international blues radio play. Songwriting duties are shared or split between singer Brian Neller and guitarist Paul Sanderson (in his other life, one of Canada's top entertainment lawyers). Neller has a suitably gruff voice and Sanderson is a fluent guitarist. The quintet's lineup includes saxman Norm Ryan and producer Paul Irvine also adds horns, resulting in a nice full-blooded sound.
Blue Room launch the new album at Toronto's Monarch's Pub on Oct. 18. PWYC donations go to the worthy cause Artist Legal Advice Services.
