Cult favourite psychedelic soul group King Khan and The Shrines premiered a new music video for “Born to Die”, the latest single from their 2013 album Idle No More. According to a press release, "Born To Die” is “not for the faint at heart, set in a mythical time, it tells of the ongoing plight of the upper class to exterminate the innocent while shining a light of hope in the strangest of places”. The fitting (and trippy) music video pays tribute to filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky, and depicts Louis the 14th ordering modern executions. We’d expect nothing less than epic from Khan.
The nine-piece band has one Canadian date scheduled on their North American tour. See their (reputedly must-see) live show at the Vancouver International Jazz Fest on June 24.
