Borrowing Trouble

Todd 'Dammit' Kerns scored Canadian rock success in the '90s in gold-sellers Age of Electric, while subsequent project Static In Stereo deserved a better fate. He tours the globe as bassist for Slash and fronts Vegas-based The Sin City Sinners, but we're pleased he found time for this impressive solo disc, his second. His rich and muscular voice is in full form, and suits the passionate rock ballads here like "You Can Always Go Home", "The Devil In Me" and "So Close So Far". Kerns launched the disc with a June 2 gig in Vegas. He'll play Canadian dates later in the summer and performs with Slash at Alberta's Boonstock (June 29) and in Thunder Bay (July 3).
