Chance to Fate
The fourth album from The Olympic Symphonium, Chance To Fate is also the best yet from these Maritime folk-rockers. It was recorded over four days in an allegedly haunted New Brunswick Inn with studio wizard Joshua van Tassell (Great Lake Swimmers, David Myles), who produces with flair. Folk, country, and soft-rock influences give the OS sound just enough variety, and there's a gently atmospheric feel to proceedings. Sweet lap steel is used nicely, as on the lovely "Home." A podium finish is deserved. After playing East Coast Music week in early April, they tour the Maritimes, Quebec and Ontario, dipping Stateside for three gigs. This comes out on vinyl, CD and digital.
