Close Your Eyes

The sound of Racoon Bandit has elicited comparisons to such East Coast indie rock peers as the revered Sloan and Thrush Hermit, and their excellent new album Close Your Eyes (the follow-up to 2011's Into The Hills) justifies that. Their melodic songs are well-crafted and executed with elan. Opening cut "Searcher Song" has a psych tinge, while "You Got Into It," "On The Hook," and "Metals"  have a nice jangle-pop feel. Closing cut "Passing Through" is the theme song for popular web series Just Passing Through. The production work of Colin Buchanan (Paper Lions) is top-notch, and he makes instrumental contributions too. This Bandit may just steal your heart and ears.

The album is launched at Sportsman’s in Charlottetown on Aug. 21, and we sure hope RB tour properly behind the record.
