West Coast rockers Zerbin describe their sound as "melodic symphonic prophetic alternative indie rock music". Not the most concise tag, but it does hint at the sonic variety showcased on new album Darling. The title cut is sedate and haunting, while other songs are up-tempo and catchy. The self-produced disc was recorded on vintage gear, and that's reflected in the warm sound. Led by frontman Jason Zerbin, they attracted attention with 2010 debut record Of Fools and Gold and 2013 EP Touch, and earned multiple 2012 Edmonton Music Awards, just prior to relocating to Victoria.
