Draft Day/Days in the East

Perhaps it’s the Juno win for Rap Recording of the Year he just nabbed for the inspired Nothing Was The Same, because Drake appears to be in a giving mood; this week he unveiled two new tracks, "Draft Day" and "Days In The East" and made them available as a free download through Soundcloud. The former samples Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop”, with some quick-tongued verses calling out Chance the Rapper as well as an attempt to woo Jennifer Lawrence. The latter was co-produced by his protégé PARTYNEXTDOOR, and is closer to the “Hold On, We’re Going Home” Drizzy – soulful and a little guarded. It also might or might not be about a burgeoning romance with Rihanna. Doubtful that these tunes will appear on a new album (and that posthumous Aaliyah collab album is definitely not happening), so grab the new tracks while they’re still available.
