Singer/songwriter Keiffer McLean was nominated for a 2013 Canadian Folk Music Award for young performer of the year, based on the strength of a self-titled 2012 debut EP. Now he's releasing one highly impressive debut full-length album, Drama In The Attic. He's just 20, but shows real musical maturity here. He possesses a melodically pleasing voice, suggestive of a subtler Rufus Wainwright, and very interesting arrangements featuring four horn instruments helps separate this from the basic folk crop. McLean has played some major folk festivals, and he will showcase at CMW in May. Certainly an artist to watch closely.
