Every Colour, Present Wonder
Don't let the name of The Folk fool you. This talented sextet is banjo-free, and they deliver compelling modern rock on their second album, Every Colour, Present Wonder, the follow-up to 2014’s We All Say. They actually term their sound "independent psych/rock/fuckpop," and this hybrid intrigues on the strong record. Your attention will be instantly seized by dynamic opening track "Avery", and odds are you'll stay gripped. The album is the result of four months spent in Montreal’s Mile End writing, polishing, re-writing and ultimately recording the disc with Pat Gregoire (Islands, Pat Jordache) at renowned studio hotel2tango.
The group are playing nine shows in Ontario and Montreal in October. Check their site for details.
