Synth-pop duo P'aris describe their new single "Focus" as "emo-synth-pop". There's certainly something emotional about their brave choice of topic, miscarriage. In a press release, they note "‘Focus' is a song about two people experiencing the loss of a pregnancy. It is about making sure the relationship doesn’t suffer while you’re each processing things in your own way". An intense theme, indeed, but the actual sound of the cut (produced by Stint) is quite vibrant, featuring shiny synths and a skittering rhythm to fine effect. No surprise the cut is already scoring blogosphere love. Another recent track, "Confidence", is equally impressive. Word is that the duo prefer a cloak of anonymity, but this music speaks for itself, strongly.
