He Digs Me
We were mighty impressed last year by Sunday Wilde's album He Gave Me A Blue Nightgown, and new album He Digs Me (her fifth) is equally convincing. Wilde has a strong and supple voice, and she tackles blues, jazz and roots styles with real flair (executive producer Rennie Frattura terms her sound "modern traditional Americana blues”). Covers of Bessie Smith and Patsy Cline sit alongside her strong originals. The album was recorded in Minnesota, and Wilde's notable inroads on U.S. (a #1 on Siriusxm) and European blues radio will surely be enhanced here. There were 600 requests for radio downloads in just two days for He Digs Me. Wilde hosts a CD launch listening party in her hometown of Atikokan, ON on Feb. 15.
