If Anything

After years of releasing (really) concise EPs, Toronto noisemakers Greys triumphantly unleash their first full-length, If Anything. In 35 still-brief minutes, the foursome riff heavily, slug it out, and wail, with references to Guns N’ Roses, Sook-Yin-Lee, and Fugazi. Little surprise – the whole affair is loud as shit. Compare the band to contemporaries Metz if you will, but Greys are more indebted to grunge’s raw side (even though the former is the act signed to Seattle’s Sub Pop). Chaotic sure, but vital and goddamn thrilling.

Lead vocalist Shehzaad Jiwani recently sat down with our friends at Chart Attack and made his picks for the 15 Essential CanRock Music Videos of the ‘90s (it’s hard to disagree with his picks!).
