Infinite Regress

Originally primarily a creative outlet for frontman Kyle Dawe, The Sole Pursuit have now gelled as a tight-knit band. They faced adversity in the making of new album Infinite Regress (it took three years), but have emerged the stronger for it. This is hard-edged yet accessible modern rock of a high order, and the 11-minute opus “Depths of Hell” shows they're progressive, not regressive. The full-length follows on from earlier EPs, 2013’s Opposing Force and 2014’s Ocean Floor. The production work of Mike Langford (Sloan, Thornley, Crash Karma) is strong.

The band are now in the middle of a Canadian tour that finishes up in Kelowna on Nov. 5. Check their site for a full itinerary.
