Influence - Single

It has been quite a while since we've heard from The Acorn, the critically-acclaimed project of Ottawa singer/songwriter Rolf Klausener. 2010 in fact, when his group released their third full length album, No Ghost. Thankfully a new Acorn cut, "Influence", has just dropped, presaging a full album, Vieux Loup, that'll surface on Paper Bag in May. It's a lovely track too, one fusing both electro and acoustic textures to typically haunting effect. In a label press release, Klausener explained "It was written around this lilting vocal improvisation that had no discernible verse or chorus; I wanted the melody to float from bedroom to bar, happily lost, immune to stink eyes."

The Acorn will unveil new material as part of the Paper Bag Records SXSW Showcase at The Parish Underground in Austin on March 20.
