Into the Ground - Single
Back in 2013, we were quite taken with We Were Found In The Fog, the debut full-length from roots-inflected indie-rockers Federal Lights. They have a new album, Coeur de Lion, ready for release on Aporia Records on Jan. 29, and we get a preview listen in the form of new single "Into the Ground". In a press release, FL mainman Jean-Guy Roy explains "The song is about the dynamic of relationships. They're a work in progress that can take people to the edge of every emotion conceivable, constantly begging the question, ‘is this worth it’? Ultimately for me, it is, but sadly for a lot of people it isn't". Roy's rugged and honest vocals are complemented by a dynamic arrangement and a full production sound. As with the debut, the new album was produced by Rusty Matyas (Imaginary Cities, Sheepdogs). Of note: the first album won them a Western Canadian Music Award and European gigs earlier this year were well-received (Coeur de Lion was released there first).
We expect Canadian tour dates to follow the album's release.
