Mormor is the new project of T.O.-based producer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Seth Nyquist. He describes it as "a cultural critique that is both relevant and refined", and it features vivid soundscapes and r 'n b inflected vocals that have elicited comparisons to the likes of Frank Ocean and early the Weeknd. The first single (and video), "Live For Nothing", has grabbed attention, and there's a nice variety to the material on the debut EP of that title. Kelly Pratt (ex-member of Beirut) added additional production on the title track and arranged the horn section that is featured on “Revolution”. Impressive stuff.
