Lost & Found
A year ago, Stars released No One Is Lost, the seventh album of an illustrious career now spanning 15 years. It showed they remain at the top of their game as national treasures of the Canadian indie rock scene. In advance of more North American touring in the fall, the band is now releasing Lost & Found, a three-cut EP comprising two unreleased songs from the No One Is Lost sessions plus a cover. The focus track, "A Simple Song", is a gem, building dynamically from a minimal and wistful beginning and featuring the Stars signature of alternating male and female vocals (Torq Campbell and Amy Millan respectively). The cover is a fresh twist on Style Council hit "Long Hot Summer", that group's finest moment. These Stars still burneth bright.
Their upcoming tour begins in The Met in Pawtucket, RI, on Oct. 4, closing out with a gig at Halifax Pop Explosion on Oct. 23 and two shows at Rock House in St. John's NF on Oct. 25-26. For a full itinerary, go to the band's website.
