Love and Hate
Kenny Bridges is the frontman of much-loved indie emo-rockers Moneen, a band that has been rather MIA since 2010 album The World I Want To Leave Behind. Coinciding with their return to gigging, Bridges has also now launched a solo project as BR/DGES. A debut two-track single, Love and Hate, has just been released, and both sides, "What Are You Waiting For" and "Save The Best" display nice dynamic range, mixing the acoustic and electric. Definitely mellower than Moneen's work. This is a true solo project, with Bridges writing, playing and recording everything. In a FB message, he explained that "for years I've been holding onto songs that I had no idea what to do with. This year I decided it was time to pull my head out of the sand and do something with them." A vinyl release is in the works.
Moneen fans will be pleased to hear they've returned to performance. They played Heavy Montreal on August 7 and will be at Riot Fest inToronto, September 19.
