LP

The Montreal electronic artist D’eon is releasing his first record on June 5, aptly titled, “LP”. If you can believe it, the concept album is intended to be an “ ‘oratorio in four movements,’ as an appeal to the Archangel Gabriel” (Spin), but even without focusing on the weighty themes, the record offers pleasant repeat listens, especially as an immersive headphone-worthy album. Lush textures with choral voices, pads upon pads, and 80’s throwback synths will probably draw comparisons to new M83 and Cocteau Twins, (or even to Peter Gabriel, as Spin suggests).
