Powerhouse vocalist Robin Banks has earned an international following for her blues-based sound, one that also seamlessly integrates jazz and r 'n b elements. She was a popular fixture on the Texas scene, prior to relocating to T.O.. She won a Maple Blues Award for New Artist of the Year and was twice nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year. New album Modern Classic is sure to bring her further and well-deserved kudos. It showcases her skill as a songwriter, and it was produced by blues great Duke Robillard, with players including the Roomful of Blues horns. One classy effort all round. She's currently playing around Ontario, with upcoming gigs including Toronto's Reservoir Lounge on June 19.
