Old Town

Freeman Dre won best songwriter in NOW Toronto's 2010 Readers Choice Poll. In the new album,  Dre  and his Kitchen Sink Party deal out another block of rustic folk-rock steeped with smart. heartfelt sincerity. Songs such as "Laugh Yourself to Sleep" and  "Old Town" take listeners inside mind-to-body experiences and it's worth making note of the fact that the songs here loosely retell the story of Dre's grandparents’ immigration from Nazi-occupied Poland while also touching on the lives of family members who never lived to make it to Canada.  The album was recorded out of Dale Morningstar’s Gas Station studio on Toronto Island and is self-produced.
