P.S. I Love You

Jazz singer Monica Chapman deservedly received acclaim for her 2013 full-length debut record, But Beautiful, and she has since had some prestigious club gigs (including Birdland) in NYC. Her profile will surely expand further with strong follow-up outing, P.S. I Love You. Chapman's fluent voice tackles Songbook classics (Irving Berlin, Johnny Mercer, Oscar Hammerstein etc), and the musically-varied album boasts very high production and musical standards. Ace producer/pianist Bill King (her musical mentor) is at the helm, with the elite band of William Sperandei, Dave Young, Nathan Hiltz and Mark Kelso on hand. We especially dig the cool version of "From Russia With Love".

A CD release performance is set for Lula Lounge in Toronto on April 24 (a free show).
