After years of gigging and building word of mouth, Toronto-based post-punk newcomers The Dying Arts are finally set to release their self-titled EP on June 3. The first glimpse is early exuberant single, “Scratch”. Produced by hardcore engineer Jon Drew (Alexisonfire, Tokyo Police Club, Fucked Up), the track is underscored by angular guitars and driven by alt-rock howls, the coda drifting towards shoegaze territory. Muscular, raw when it calls for it, and incisor sharp. The EP release party is scheduled for June 7 @The Horseshoe in Toronto with openers Uncut, The Effens, and Pile High - be ready for it.
