Something Like Summer - Single

While self-described ‘tribal dreampop’ trio Diamond Bones didn’t quite nab the top spot in the CBC’s nationwide Searchlight contest, they were the #1 in their hometown of Montreal, and just topped the R3-30 indie charts with their wishful anthem, “Something Like Summer”. The track’s endlessly fun, post-disco synth grooves mesh well with its upbeat, hopelessly romantic lyrics and shout-along hooks. It’s given a shimmering pop sheen by producer Patrick Krief (The Dears, Krief) and mixing engineer Jace Lasek (Besnard Lakes) at the latter’s Breakglass Studios, making it an early contender for hot indie track of the season. A more accurate title would have been “Something Like a Summer Knockout”.

Download the tune for free from Bandcamp, and keep an eye out for a summer or fall full-length. The trio will play at La Sala Rossa in Montreal on May 30.
