Warpaint - Single
After a 4-month search, over 400 entries, and a series of online voting and live performances, Toronto radio station 102.1 The Edge has crowned an act as “The Next Big Thing” – and it’s London ON-based indie rock trio Ivory Hours. Their extremely relevant and de-jour quirky dance-pop sound certainly helped matters, but pairing that with a strong live show and solid, hook-laden songwriting cinched the win. Expect their groove-tight and polished single “Warpaint”, released two months ago off full-length Morning Light, to start gaining traction and deservedly enter rotation. Prize winnings included $25k in cash, $10k worth of gear from Long+McQuade, studio time at famed Metalworks Studios, and professional consultation from Dine Alone Records – so we should be hearing much more from bandleader Luke Roes and co. in the near future, perhaps on a bigger stage.
