When the World Was Young

Since heady days as a member of the legendary Klaatu, singer/songwriter Terry Draper has continued to put out quality solo albums that fuse his twin passions of melodic pop and progressive rock. A follow-up to 2012's Stranded, new record When The World Was Young is sure to please his loyal following. Such comrades as co-writer Elizabeth Racz, guitarist Vinnie Zummo (Joe Jackson, Paul Carrack), and Jamie Hoover (Spongetones) contribute effectively here, and the production values are strong. "In The Sun" has a sunny Caribbean vibe that suggests 10cc, the equally appealing "Tea Horse Road" has Chinese accents, and we love the cover of '60s hit "Pied Piper".
