Wish List - Single
She has yet to receive the recognition she richly deserves, but powerfully eloquent singer/songwriter Selina Martin continues to produce work of a very high quality. Prior to the Canadian release of an upcoming fourth album, caruso’s brain, in March (it's already out in Europe), Martin has put out a new single, "Wish List", one quickly gaining support. She explains that "the song was written for the annual Christmas Show and Food Bank benefit at the Rivoli in Toronto. I wanted to write my version of a Christmas song; not about Jesus or about holiday-time consumerism, but instead a song about solitude and loneliness at Christmas time". The dynamic track showcases her compelling voice, while the interesting arrangement includes contributions from producer Chris Stringer (Timber Timbre) and Joshua Van Tassel. We're certainly looking forward to the album, her first since 2010's Disaster Fantasies and reportedly three years in the making.
Martin played six shows in Germany in November. She is part of a Food Bank benefit holiday concert at Toronto's Lula Lounge on Dec. 20.
