Destroy It - EP

Infiltrating your body with an aggressive bass and a hook that pounces on you with animal like fervor, this Montreal trio has created an album that will absolutely destroy on the dance floor. If the original track wasn't enough, the popular Urban Contact remix brings a light-hearted electro, progressive dimension to the tune while DJ Rob de Large molds "Destroy It" into a cold, mechanical sounding industrial backbeat that is far different from BTSM's version. Check out the YouTube clip below when the trio recently played at The Hoxton in Toronto and filmed this official video for the catchy

Release Me (Remixes) - EP

With over 2 million views on YouTube and 170, 000 hits on Soundcloud, Kelowna Dubstep DJ/producer Datsik has built himself a solid online fan base. This latest release is a prime example of how great DJs creatively collaborate  as they tour around, with California's Getter and Baltimore's Barron making their notable remix contributions on the title track. Datsik cleverly keeps his audience in the loop when he's on the road, too, routinely posting his "Datsik Diaries" (below) on YouTube.

Born Troy Beetles, Datsik is touring this summer, and is scheduled for appearances at the Digital Dreams...

Impersonator

Montreal's Majical Cloudz delivers a dark, brooding album haunted by songwriter Devon Welsh questioning his identity throughout. If it sounds dark and introspective, it is-but not all is lost. There is hope, and Welsh comes to terms with his inner-self before the last song ends. Phew! Having finished a North American tour last week, the duo of Walsh and Matthew Otto are set to make an appearance at NXNE on June 15th at the BLK BOX in Toronto.

I'm in Love With the City

Prolific synth-pop artist Wilfred Kozub has been turning out quality work for quite some time, and this is his ninth release. This collection features three songs given multiple and fascinating extended remixes (the title cut has five versions here). The sounds are suitably hypnotic, and those enjoying the work of Junior Boys or Caribou should investigate closely.

Catch the Sun - Single

"Catch the Sun" is the new summer club track now available on iTunesRdioSpotify and everywhere else music lives. Zameer (Rizvi), who writes and  performs in four languages, is ranked amongst the top 5 emerging Canadian artists by Billboard. Best known for his debut single, 'Win or Defeat' that was selected as a theme song by the 2010 Paralympics and performed at the 2010 Vancouver Games, a Hoxton Whores' remix pack  of  "Catch the Sun" has been serviced  to dance clubs in the US and promises to do brisk business and burn up the charts in clubland and beyond. He's a man on a mission, and

Knot In My Heart (Nacey Remix) - Single

Since The Zolas’ superb Ancient Mars album was released back in October, the catchy tracks have been percolating in the ears of acute listeners, refusing to quit. Lucky for the converted fans then that the album’s standout track, “Knot In My Heart”, has undergone a flashy remix, thanks to Washington DC producer Nacey. While we were fans of the indie rock sheen of the original, the slick electronic polish serves Zachary Gray’s melodies well, making it a welcome addition to living room dance playlists.  Sci-fi fans may recognize the remix from a recent episode of the Vancouver-shot TV series ...

Bellevue Avenue - Single

Soft electro starts off the tune before emerging into an upbeat, powerful track with looping vocals and catchy backbeats.  This five-piece is offering a free download on their website for subscribing to their artist page here.

Pure. JELO

This Pure podcast is the first of its kind to have a featured DJ for the compilation, giving the honour to Toronto veteran DJ, JELO. Capturing a worldwide spin of JELO's onstage charisma with influential DJs Nicky Romero and Adam K. in the mix, Pure. JELO emulates the renowned DJ's extensive EDM roots, snapping to a start with Mexican electro house DJ Frederik Mooij and winding down with Revolvr & Lea Luna.

He's not just a DJ working his magic in the studio, however; Joshua Lorne Obront (Jelo) is also a man of the people and has appearances set at  several festivals and venues around North...

Voyage Love

Trust Montreal to come up with an electro-pop band with a highly sexy sound. Le Couleur follows up much praised debut album Origami with this impressive new release that pays homage to disco while still sounding tres moderne. Ladytron and Human League (for "Vacances de '87") would be good reference points, and vocalist Laurence Giroux-Do's sultry voice charms. The disc was produced by noted remixer French Fox and features contributions by French Horn Rebellion. Serious commercial potential here. Le Couleur plays Quebec's Festival Artefact on May 25.
