Video of the moment

Every week we select a music video by a Canadian group or artist who have recently been reviewed by our editorial team. If you'd like to suggest a video for consideration, you can send us a message using this form.

Highly-acclaimed singer/songwriter Michael Rault will release a new album, Living Daylight, on June 24 on the Pirates Blend label. To further fuel interest in it, he has just put out a video for catchy new single  "Too All My Friends", following on from earlier single/video, "Lost Something". Here at NCM, we were excited to learn that the album was recorded in Edmonton with Renny Wilson, one of our fave Canadian artists. He and Rault are cousins, as it happens. Like Wilson, Rault has an eclectic style, drawing upon classic rock and psych-pop touchstones. "Too All My Friends" (named after one of his childhood friend's misspelled tattoos) showcases that sound nicely, and the clip is suitably colorful, trippy and loose, making it an ideal fusion of sound and vision. The video was directed, shot and edited by Laura-Lynn Petrick. Now Toronto-based, Rault plays with Biblical in London, ON (June 12) and Toronto (June 13), followed by three gigs at NXNE (June 19-21) and at Divan Orange in Montreal, June 29. Tell all your friends!
